Tree Cookies

These festive Tree Cookies are the perfect holiday treat. They have a soft and buttery texture and are decorated with colorful sprinkles and powdered sugar to look like Christmas trees.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Green food coloring
  • Assorted colorful sprinkles
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions:

Scoop out the butter and mix it with the sugar in a big bowl until its smooth and fluffy

Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix them in well

Mix the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt together in a different bowl

Mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients one at a time until a dough forms

There are a few drops of green food coloring in the dough

Mix it until it is the color you want

Put the dough in the fridge for at least an hour with plastic wrap over it

Warm your oven up to 350F 175C and put parchment paper on a baking sheet

Cut the dough into small pieces and roll them into balls

Make each ball a little flatter and then shape them into triangles that look like trees

Add different colored sprinkles to the trees to make them look like ornaments

Put the cookies on the baking sheet that has been prepared

Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are just beginning to turn golden

After taking the cookies out of the oven, leave them on the baking sheet to cool for a while

Move the cookies to a wire rack to cool all the way down

After the cookies have cooled, sprinkle them with powdered sugar to make them look like snow
