Patty Melt Grilled Cheese

Gay Daddy Torquay

A delicious twist on the classic grilled cheese sandwich, this patty melt combines savory ground beef, melted Swiss cheese, and caramelized onions between slices of rye bread.

Ingredients:

  • 2 slices of rye bread
  • 2 slices of Swiss cheese
  • 1/4 lb ground beef
  • 1/4 cup diced onions
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

Set a skillet on medium heat to warm it up

Add salt and pepper to the ground beef, and then shape it into a patty

Put the butter in the pan and let it melt

In a skillet, cook the patty for three to four minutes on each side, or until its done the way you like it

Take the patty out of the pan and set it aside

Put the diced onions in the same pan and cook for about 5 minutes, until they turn caramelized

Put a slice of Swiss cheese on each slice of rye bread to make the sandwich while you wait

Put the cooked patty on one slice of bread, and then add the onions that have been caramelized on top of it

Put the other slice of bread on top of the sandwich, cheese side down

Put the sandwich back in the pan and cook it for two to three minutes on each side, until the cheese melts and the bread turns golden brown

Take it out of the pan, cut it up if you want, and serve it hot
