Korean Savory Shrimp Pancake, also known as Haemul Pajeon, is a delightful Korean savory pancake filled with fresh shrimp, vegetables, and a savory batter. Its a popular Korean dish that makes for a tasty appetizer or snack.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1/4 cup carrot, julienned
  • 1/4 cup zucchini, julienned
  • 1/4 cup onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Sesame oil for drizzling optional
  • Dipping sauce soy sauce, vinegar, and red pepper flakes, optional

Instructions:

Put the all-purpose flour, water, and egg in a large bowl and mix them together

Mix the batter until its smooth

Mix in the chopped garlic, green onions, carrot, zucchini, onion, and shrimp

Well mix the ingredients so they are spread out evenly

Add the salt, black pepper, vegetable oil, and soy sauce and mix well

Blend until everything is well mixed

Warm up a skillet or frying pan that doesnt stick over medium-high heat

Cover the pan with a little vegetable oil

Put a small amount of the pancake batter into the hot pan and use a spatula to spread it out into a thin, even layer

The pancake should be cooked for three to four minutes on each side, or until it is golden brown and crispy

Do it again with the rest of the batter, adding more oil to the pan if needed

If you want, you can drizzle it with sesame oil and serve it hot with dipping sauce
