Cookies and Cream Chocolate Doughnuts
Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup crushed chocolate sandwich cookies
- For the glaze:
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Additional crushed cookies for topping
Instructions:
Grease a doughnut pan and preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit 175 degrees Celsius
Mix together the flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and cocoa powder in a mixing bowl
Beat the egg, vegetable oil, buttermilk, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl
Mixing until just combined, pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients
Add the crushed cookies and fold
Spoon about two thirds of the batter into each mold in the doughnut pan that has been prepared
If a toothpick is inserted into a doughnut, it should come out clean after baking for 10 to 12 minutes in a preheated oven
After letting the doughnuts cool in the pan for a few minutes, move them to a wire rack to finish cooling
To make the glaze, blend the powdered sugar, milk, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract until a smooth consistency is achieved
Every cooled doughnut should be dipped into the glaze, letting any extra drip off
Garnish the glazed doughnuts with extra crushed cookies
Before serving, let the glaze harden
