Easy No-Yeast Beignets
These easy no-yeast beignets are a quick and delicious treat that can be made without the need for yeast or rising time. They are perfect for breakfast or as a sweet snack. The dough comes together in minutes, and the frying process is simple. Dust them with powdered sugar for an authentic beignet experience
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions:
In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt
In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, water, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until a dough forms
Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan or pot to 350F 175C
Drop spoonfuls of the dough into the hot oil, and fry until they are golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side
Remove the beignets from the oil and drain them on a paper towel-lined plate
Dust the beignets with powdered sugar while they are still warm
